Park Eun-bin Plays Ghost-Seeing Heiress in tvN's New Occult Romance 'Chilling Romance'
tvN is betting on a trio of close-in-age leads for its next weekend drama. Park Eun-bin, Yang Se-jong and Ong Seong-wu headline "Chilling Romance" (Ossakhan Yeonae), a new Saturday-Sunday series set to premiere July 18 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
The show is billed as an occult romance. It follows a chaebol heiress who can see ghosts and a hot-blooded prosecutor whose worst fear is exactly that. Park Eun-bin plays the heiress, Cheon Yeo-ri. Yang Se-jong plays the prosecutor, Ma Kang-wook. Ong Seong-wu rounds out the main cast as Kang Min-hwan.
Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong were both born in 1992. Ong Seong-wu was born in 1995. That closeness in age shaped the mood on set, according to the three actors, who spoke about their chemistry ahead of the premiere.
"Working with actors close to my age made it easier to relax on set," Park Eun-bin said. She added that the cast shared an upbeat energy from the first script reading, and that their timing came together naturally as filming went on.
Yang Se-jong said the group focused on staying inside their characters between takes. "On set, we tried hard to stay focused on each other's characters," he said. "We had plenty of rehearsal time with the director and the other actors, and we talked through every scene in detail. The conversations and rehearsals are what let the chemistry click."
Ong Seong-wu described the set as intense in a good way. "The atmosphere on set was really passionate," he said. "We had serious discussions about each other's characters and scenes, and whenever a beat or an emotion wasn't landing, we talked it out together and worked through it in a fun way."
Behind-the-scenes photos released with the interviews show the three leads huddled around the monitor, checking playback and comparing notes on scenes. In front of the camera, they trade the concentration for bright smiles and playful poses.
"Chilling Romance" premieres July 18 at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN.
