Byun Yo-han's Busy 2026: 'Tazza' Finale, New Films After Marriage
Korean actor Byun Yo-han is not slowing down after marriage. The actor, who registered his marriage to Tiffany in February and has yet to hold a wedding ceremony, is now deep in back-to-back film shoots and release prep.
His next big screen appearance comes this Chuseok, the Korean autumn harvest holiday and one of the country's biggest box office windows. "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub," directed by Choi Guk-hee, opens in theaters in September as the closing chapter of the "Tazza" film franchise, based on the classic comic by Huh Young-man. Byun plays Jang Tae-young, a gambler who has lost everything and squares off against a rival named No Jae-won. As the lead of the series finale, he is carrying much of the film's weight.
More projects are lined up behind it. Byun has been cast in the film "Pamun," directed by Kim Sun-kyung, which recently wrapped filming. The story follows the Yedong Kwon family, a clan that has run a dangerous illegal business for generations. After the death of the family's eldest heir, a violent fight breaks out over who will take his place. Byun plays Park Ki-tae, a longtime handyman for the family, and shaved his head for the role.
He also finished shooting the short-form drama "My Father's Table", directed by Lee Joon-ik, which will screen at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. Based on a webtoon of the same name, the family drama centers on a wife named An Sun-ae, who has cooked for her family her whole life and loses her memory of how to cook after an accident. Her husband, Ko Ha-eung, who had always taken her home cooking for granted, steps into the kitchen for the first time. Byun shares scenes with Jung Jin-young and Lee Jung-eun.
Another shoot is already underway. In the film "Son Eopneun Nal," directed by Heo Jung, Byun plays Tae-ju, a skilled shaman and the disciple of a spiritual master. It is his first project with actors Ahn Jae-hong and Ha Yoon-kyung, and marks another turn in the mystery genre for him.
Byun and Tiffany became legally married in February. Since then, his schedule has only tightened. Films opening soon, films still shooting, and more waiting in line paint the picture of an actor who wants to keep working. He is entering one of the busiest stretches of his career at the same moment he is starting married life. When the couple will hold their wedding ceremony and take their honeymoon has become its own point of interest.
