NMIXX's Haewon Responds to Mixed Reactions Over New Short Hairstyle

NMIXX member Haewon has spoken out after her new short haircut sparked mixed reactions from fans.

The singer surprised fans on July 9 when she appeared at the airport with a cropped hairstyle before departing for Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for NMIXX's "EPISODE 1: ZERO FRONTIER" world tour. Having never worn such a short style since her debut, Haewon's new look quickly became a talking point online.

Later that day, she addressed the reactions through the fan communication platform, explaining that the haircut had a practical reason behind it.

"I cut it because my hair was damaged," she said, adding that fans would not be seeing the style during official activities. "I won't be going on stage with this hair, so don't worry. The same goes for fan sign events."

Haewon also joked about how long it would take to grow her hair back. "It'll probably take about three years to grow it out completely," she wrote. "Stay by my side and watch it grow."

NMIXX has been meeting fans through its first world tour following the release of its fifth mini-album, "Heavy Serenade," in May.
