Korean film "The Journey to Gyeongju" has confirmed an August 26 release date and unveiled two new posters. The revenge drama stars Lee Jung-eun, Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam and Lee Yeon as a mother and her three daughters who spend eight years preparing their revenge. The twist: they disguise the whole thing as a normal family trip so they can kidnap a killer.

The film brings together Lee Jung-eun, Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam and Lee Yeon as a mother and three daughters who spend eight years planning revenge. Their premise is grim but sharp: the family stages an ordinary road trip as cover for kidnapping a killer.

"The Journey to Gyeongju" follows the four women as they finally set out on a "killer" vacation for the youngest daughter, Gyeong-ju, who never came home from a school trip. The posters lean into that contrast, pairing the surface of a normal family outing with the revenge plot hidden underneath.

The first poster shows the four riding in a yellow van, each in her own world. Mother Ok-sil, played by Lee Jung-eun, prays with a rosary in hand. Eldest daughter Jang-ju, played by Gong Hyo-jin, grips the wheel and watches the others. Middle daughter Yeong-ju, played by Park So-dam, tests a disposable camera meant to serve as an alibi. Youngest surviving daughter Dong-ju, played by Lee Yeon, sleeps soundly through it all. The scene looks like a regular family trip until you notice the red human-shaped silhouette between them and the tagline, "We kidnapped a killer."

The second poster is set at Donggung and Wolji, one of the best-known historic sites in Gyeongju. The four pose for a smiling group photo in matching "FAMILY" T-shirts. It reads as picture-perfect, but the tagline cuts through the warmth: "The trip is the alibi. The goal is revenge. We kidnapped a killer." Small bloodstains on the image hint at what the family vacation is really about.

Lee Jung-eun has built a wide-ranging career across film and TV, with credits including "My Daughter Is a Zombie," "Miss Night and Day" and "Parasite." Gong Hyo-jin is known for her natural, lived-in acting in works like "The People Upstairs," "When the Camellia Blooms" and "Don't Dare to Dream." Park So-dam has shown detailed emotional range in "Death's Game," "Parasite" and "The Priests." Lee Yeon has carved out her own presence in projects including "Perfect Crown," "A Lonely Island in the Distant Sea" and "Juvenile Justice."

"The Journey to Gyeongju" marks Kim Mi-jo's first commercial feature. She earned strong reviews for her debut, "Gull." Before its domestic release, "The Journey to Gyeongju" screened at the Hawaii International Film Festival and the Florence Korea Film Festival, meeting overseas audiences first.

The family revenge drama opens in Korean theaters on August 26.
