RESCENE's Domestic Breakthrough Sends Group Soaring Into K-POPIT BOARD Global Top 5
RESCENE is beginning to see its growing popularity in South Korea translate overseas, making a sharp jump on the K-POPIT BOARD Global Rise Chart after weeks of building momentum at home.
According to K-POPIT BOARD, the K-POP analytics index, RESCENE ranked No. 1 on the July 16 domestic chart with a Power Index (PWR_KR) score of 69.3. The group also climbed to No. 5 on the Global Rise Chart with a Power Index (PWR_GL) score of 55. Just two days earlier, RESCENE had not even been in the global chart's Top 20, making it one of the week's biggest movers. The Power Index combines data from music charts, social media activity and news coverage to measure an artist's overall momentum.
The jump follows a string of milestones that have turned the five-member girl group into one of Korea's hottest acts. On July 14, RESCENE earned its first music show trophy with "Pretty Girl" on SBS Life's The Show, marking the group's first broadcast music show win since debut.
The victory came as both "Pretty Girl" and the group's earlier hit "LOVE ATTACK" continued to perform strongly on domestic streaming charts. Originally released in 2024, "LOVE ATTACK" recently found new life after going viral online, climbing back to the top of Korea's major music platforms in one of this year's biggest reverse-charting success stories. "Pretty Girl," a remake of KARA's classic hit, has also become a steady chart performer, helping introduce the group to a wider audience.
The group's recent rise has opened doors beyond the music industry as well. RESCENE was announced as the halftime performer for the 2026 Coupang Play Series match between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid on Aug. 9, a stage that has become known for featuring some of Korea's most in-demand artists.
With its first music show win, strong digital performance and growing international attention, RESCENE appears to be carrying its domestic breakout into the global market, reflected in its rapid climb on this week's K-POPIT BOARD rankings.
