"I'll let you go well"… TWICE's Nayeon greets fans amidst contract renewal issues
TWICE's oldest member Nayeon has spoken out for the first time since the group closed its year-long world tour, as the nine-member act approaches a second round of contract renewals.
On the 15th, Nayeon posted a message on Instagram reflecting on the end of the run. "The long, year-long tour has come to an end," she wrote.
She said she began the tour with a mix of fear and excitement, and admitted she felt she had fallen short at times. "Looking back, I know I was lacking in so many ways," she wrote. "But thanks to the happy faces of fans, their cheers, and the team behind me who cared about the stage even more than I did, I made it this far."
She continued, "Getting to dance and sing the music I love on incredible stages, with fans cheering so passionately, this tour reminded me just how grateful and happy I am." She thanked every fan who came out during the year and every staff member who worked alongside the group, adding that she would send the "This Is For" tour off well.
Nayeon also left a note in the comments hinting at what comes next. "Let's meet again, even better," she wrote.
TWICE wrapped the "This Is For" tour with a three-night finale on the 10th through the 12th at KSPO DOME in Seoul's Songpa district. The run began in July last year at Inspire Arena in Incheon and covered 81 shows across 44 cities in Asia, Oceania, North America, and Europe.
The tour's close arrives at a pivotal moment for the group. TWICE renewed with JYP Entertainment as a full lineup in 2022, a rare feat in K-pop where members often part ways at the seven-year mark. With the second renewal window now approaching, attention is turning to how each of the nine members will chart her next steps.
