KATSEYE Documentary Could Hold the Biggest Clues to Manon's Return
KATSEYE's first theatrical documentary "KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS" has been billed as a look back at the group's rapid rise from rookie act to global phenomenon. But after the release of its first trailer, many fans are looking at it for a different reason. They hope it could offer the first real clue about Manon's future.
The documentary premieres worldwide on Aug. 12, just two days before KATSEYE releases its third EP "WILD." It follows the group's first two years with behind-the-scenes footage, member interviews, fan-submitted videos and highlights from major milestones including Coachella, Lollapalooza and the 2026 American Music Awards.

Since Manon went on hiatus in February due to health reasons, KATSEYE has promoted as a five-member group. That has made her role in the documentary one of the biggest questions surrounding the film.
The trailer briefly shows Manon practicing and interacting with the other members, putting to rest early fears that she had been edited out completely. But fans were quick to notice that every appearance appears to come from older footage filmed before her hiatus. There is no obvious sign of a newly filmed interview or present-day footage featuring the singer.
The trailer also hints that the documentary will tell KATSEYE's story largely through interviews filmed alongside the group's activities beginning around the "PINKY UP" era, giving viewers a closer look at the members' thoughts and experiences as their career took off. If those interviews make up the backbone of the film, as the trailer suggests, it may leave little room for newly filmed material featuring Manon beyond previously recorded footage.
That has become the focus of online discussion. Some fans questioned whether Manon's inclusion in archival clips should be taken as confirmation that she actually participated in the documentary. Others argued that unless she appears in new interviews or footage filmed specifically for "KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS," the trailer does little to answer the biggest question surrounding her hiatus.
Several fans also expressed disappointment over how little Manon appeared in the trailer, saying they "barely saw her" despite expecting the documentary to cover the group's journey as a whole. Others, however, viewed her appearance as an encouraging sign. After months of uncertainty, they said simply seeing her included suggested the production had not erased her from KATSEYE's story.
The documentary's timing has only added to the speculation. Released just before the group's comeback, the film could become more than a retrospective. Fans believe it may reveal subtle hints about KATSEYE's next chapter, whether through new interviews, comments from the members or even a brief update on Manon's current situation.
Of course, the documentary may not address her future at all. It could simply remain focused on the period it documents, with Manon's appearances limited to moments captured before her hiatus.
Until "KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS" premieres, fans will continue searching for clues. Whether the film provides any answers remains to be seen, but for many EYEKONS, the documentary has become more than a celebration of KATSEYE's success. It has become the place where they hope to find the first signs of Manon's return.
