"Still, I..." BTS's V maintained his integrity even at the World Cup stadium
BTS's V stayed loyal to his home team on soccer's biggest night, even without Korea on the field. Hours after performing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show, the singer, born Kim Tae-hyung, watched Spain take on Argentina from the stands with a Red Devils supporters' towel wrapped around his head.
V shared a photo of the moment on his Instagram Story on July 20, along with a short caption that read, "Still, Red Devils." The Red Devils are the official supporters group of the South Korean national soccer team, whose colors and name have become shorthand for Korean fans backing the squad worldwide.
South Korea was not in the final, but the message was clear. V still turned up in the stands as a fan of his country's team.
The halftime performance itself was a first for the tournament. FIFA introduced a halftime show at the World Cup final for the first time in the event's history, and BTS took the stage after a set by pop icon Madonna, closing out the segment with "Dynamite."
BTS arrived at the final coming straight off the European leg of its "ARIRANG" world tour. The group wrapped that run through five European cities on July 18 local time, with the second of two nights at Stade de France in Paris.
