Korean actor Koo Kyo-hwan is stepping into his first full-scale action role. The film "REAWAKEN MAN: THE RED," directed by Baek, has confirmed a September theatrical release and revealed its first poster.

In the film, Koo Kyo-hwan plays Seok-hwan, a job seeker whose only real asset is unearned confidence. His life shifts when he learns he can come back to life 72 hours after dying. Soon after, mysterious pursuers begin chasing him.

The role continues a busy stretch for the actor. This year alone, Koo Kyo-hwan has appeared in the films "Once We Were Us" (Manyage Uri) and "Colony," along with the drama "We Are All Trying Here" (Moduga Jasinui Mugachihamgwa Ssauigo Itda). Seok-hwan marks another new turn for him, a character who grows stronger with every death. The action scales up with each resurrection, paired with the offbeat energy and personality Koo Kyo-hwan is known for.

He is joined by Shin Seung-ho, known for "Pilot," "Weak Hero," and "D.P.," along with Kang Ki-young, Kim Si-a, and Kim Sung-ryung. The mix of distinct actors is one of the film's early talking points.

The newly released poster shows Seok-hwan with cuts across his face, standing calmly in front of a wall pocked with bullet holes. His expression is unbothered. It is a snapshot of a character caught between two lives: an ordinary job hunter and someone who gets stronger every time he dies. Koo Kyo-hwan's new look, including bright red hair, sharpens the transformation. The tagline reads, "I died. Then I came back."

"REAWAKEN MAN: THE RED" opens in Korean theaters in September.
