BLACKPINK Surpasses BTS With Historic 2.4 Billion YouTube Views, Dominates K-POPIT BOARD
BLACKPINK continues to demonstrate its global reach through a new YouTube milestone, strong analytics rankings and a series of individual and group activities. The milestone drew particular attention for surpassing the record held by BTS.
The music video for the group's 2018 hit "DDU-DU DDU-DU" surpassed 2.4 billion views on YouTube on July 25, becoming the first music video by a K-pop group to reach the milestone. Released in June 2018, the video achieved the mark just over eight years after its release. This achievement surpasses the record held by BTS, whose most-viewed music video, "Dynamite," stands at 2.1 billion views.
According to the K-POPIT BOARD rankings released on July 28, BLACKPINK placed third on the Global Power Index with 57 points. JENNIE ranked seventh on the domestic Power Index, or PWR_KR, with 56 points, placing the group and one of its members in the top 10 of the respective charts.
The Power Index combines indicators including global streaming performance, social media activity, video consumption, fandom response and media exposure.
BLACKPINK also received a perfect score of 100 on the board's Viral Conversion Leader index, which measures how effectively attention generated on YouTube and other online platforms translates into music consumption on streaming services such as Spotify.
The group's visibility has been further strengthened by the members' solo activities.
JENNIE and Australian musician Tame Impala's collaboration "Dracula" recently reached No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Pop Airplay chart, which tracks weekly airplay on adult contemporary pop radio stations in the United States. It marked the first No. 1 on the chart for both artists.
The song had previously topped Billboard's Pop Airplay chart, which measures plays across mainstream top 40 radio stations. It also climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July, reflecting its continued growth across streaming and radio.
"Dracula" was originally released as a solo Tame Impala track in October 2025. A remix featuring JENNIE followed in February 2026 and gained traction on short-form video platforms, helping the song rise across several Billboard rankings.
Meanwhile, First We Feast announced on July 27 that JISOO will appear on the American YouTube interview series "Hot Ones." Her episode is scheduled to premiere Thursday at 11 a.m. ET, or midnight KST on July 31.
JENNIE, LISA and ROSÉ have previously appeared on the series. JISOO's appearance will therefore make BLACKPINK the first group for which all four members have individually taken on the show's spicy chicken-wing challenge.
BLACKPINK is also expanding its group-wide brand activities. Lotte Department Store announced on July 28 that a "BLACKPINK X Tamagotchi" pop-up store will be held from July 30 through Aug. 5 on the first basement floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, Seoul. The event will offer 28 limited-edition collaboration products.
Taken together, the record-breaking YouTube milestone, JENNIE's continued chart success, JISOO's upcoming U.S. web-series appearance and the group's latest brand collaboration show how BLACKPINK is maintaining a broad presence across music, digital content and consumer culture.
