KATSEYE Holds No. 1 on K-POPIT BOARD as 'Animal' Continues Global Rise

KATSEYE is continuing its strong run on K-POPIT BOARD as its latest single, "Animal," gains traction worldwide and anticipation builds for the group's upcoming EP.

According to K-POPIT BOARD, a K-pop analytics platform, KATSEYE ranked No. 1 on the Global Rise chart dated Aug. 3 with a Global Power Index, or PWR_GL, score of 75.

The group also remained atop the domestic chart with a Domestic Power Index, or PWR_KR, score of 80, retaining the No. 1 position throughout the weekend. The Power Index measures an artist's overall activity using data including music chart performance, social media engagement and news coverage.

KATSEYE also posted strong results across several of the platform's detailed metrics. The group recorded a Media Attention Score, or MAS, of 97.7. The metric measures media exposure and public interest based on coverage by Korean entertainment news outlets.

Its Spotify activity increased by 105 percent, while its D-layer activity rose by 249 percent. The latter tracks engagement from users outside an artist's established fandom, according to K-POPIT BOARD.

The rise in attention has coincided with the growing international performance of "Animal."

On Spotify's Weekly Top Songs chart for July 24-30, the single ranked No. 9 globally and No. 8 in the United States, marking KATSEYE's highest positions on both charts. It was also the week's highest-charting new entry.

"Animal" showed strong results immediately after its release. It topped Spotify's Top Songs Debut charts globally and in the United Kingdom and placed second in the United States.

The track also debuted at No. 16 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart, giving KATSEYE another career-best result.

The group has expanded its promotional activities to major festival stages as well. On July 30, KATSEYE closed the main-stage program at the Hinterland Music Festival in St. Charles, Iowa, where it performed "Animal" live for the first time.

The performance marked a major festival headlining appearance for the group.

Attention is now turning to KATSEYE's third EP, "WILD," which is scheduled for release on Aug. 14. The group has continued to generate discussion following the release of the album's concept photos, adding to interest in its next musical chapter.
