Mark Lee Shares Slice of US Life in First Post-NCT Solo Content
Former NCT member Mark Lee is launching his first solo content series since leaving SM Entertainment earlier this year. The singer released a teaser for the new project through the official YouTube channel of his agency, Upper Room.
The series is titled "Mark Lee Lives in Fort Lee," and it follows the artist's daily life in the United States. In the teaser, Mark said the format is a departure from his past work with a group.
"This feels different from the self-produced content I used to film," he said. "I usually shot vlog-style videos built around a promotional concept, but this time it feels more raw and unfiltered." He added, "I'm not really the type to be funny on cue, so I just want to show life as it is."
A preview clip titled "Is This What Innocence Feels Like?" dropped on Aug. 5. Filmed in a park, Mark said he is now living "the complete opposite of life in Seoul." Spending time with young children in the clip, he added, "It's been so long since I was around kids this young. I keep thinking, 'Is this what innocence feels like?' It really is a completely different life."
Mark, a Korean-Canadian singer, ended his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment in April. He also departed from every group he had been part of, including NCT 127 and NCT DREAM. He has since founded his own one-person agency and serves as its co-CEO.
NCT 127, his former group, is preparing its first comeback without him on Aug. 24.
