Rosé to Skip BLACKPINK's 10th Anniversary Event? THEBLACKLABEL Shuts Down Rumors
Rosé of BLACKPINK will take part in the group's 10th anniversary fan event, her agency confirmed, pushing back on online speculation that she would skip the milestone. THEBLACKLABEL issued the statement on Aug. 7 through its official social media accounts, under the title "Notice regarding artist Rosé's 10th debut anniversary schedule."
The agency said false claims and unverified guesses about Rosé's personal schedule and her attendance at the anniversary event had been spreading online, and that it wanted to set the record straight.
"Rosé has long placed this schedule at the top of her priorities in order to share a meaningful moment with fans, and has secured and confirmed all related plans in advance," THEBLACKLABEL said. The label also asked the public to "refrain from reckless criticism based on one-sided speculation that has not been factually verified."
The statement followed YG Entertainment's announcement on Aug. 6 that BLACKPINK would hold a "10th Anniversary Meet and Greet" on Aug. 8 at an undisclosed venue in Seoul. According to YG Entertainment, 40 fans will be selected by lottery from BLACKPINK membership subscribers to attend.
YG Entertainment noted that "only some members of BLACKPINK, those whose schedules allow, will take part in this event." Reports that Rosé had recently been spotted in Los Angeles fueled speculation that she would miss the anniversary gathering, prompting THEBLACKLABEL's response.
BLACKPINK debuted on Aug. 8, 2016, and has since released songs including "WHISTLE," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," "How You Like That," and "JUMP," building a career that has stretched across Korea and global markets. The group marks its 10th debut anniversary on Aug. 8.
