Aespa's first Gocheok Sky Dome concert hardly felt like a first.

Just days after performing at Lollapalooza Chicago, Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning were back onstage in Seoul, showing no signs of being worn out. Over 27 songs, the choreography rarely let up and neither did their voices. By the end of the night, the size of the venue almost felt beside the point.

Aespa opened their fourth world tour, "2026-27 aespa LIVE TOUR - SYNK : COMPLaeXITY," at Gocheok Sky Dome on Aug. 7 and 8. The two shows drew a combined 35,000 fans and marked the group's first solo concerts at the venue.

The tour picks up from the world introduced in aespa's second full-length album, "LEMONADE." ae-aespa have been hit by errors and glitches, putting them at odds with their real-world counterparts. That conflict runs through five parts of the concert: anomaly, intrusion, confinement, awakening and resolution.

The opening video led straight into "LEMONADE," the title track from their recent second full-length album. Dressed in black, the four appeared onstage as ae-aespa emerged on the giant screen behind them. "Switchblade," "Whiplash," "Black Mamba" and "WDA (Whole Different Animal)" followed with barely a pause in between.

The crowd roared during "Whiplash" when Giselle emerged through the line of dancers and took center stage. "Black Mamba" followed with the group's signature head-whipping choreography. Five songs in, the members had already worked through some of the night's most demanding routines, but their vocals remained strong. Just days after Lollapalooza Chicago, they seemed to have brought that same energy back with them to Seoul.

The mood shifted after the first VCR, with the members returning in all-white outfits for "Count On Me." Karina sat at the piano as Winter leaned across it, drawing another wave of screams from the crowd. "Thirsty" and "Can't Help Myself" followed, giving their vocals more room to come through after the performance-heavy opening. During "Can't Help Myself," fans turned on their phone flashlights, filling the stands with thousands of small lights.

"Today is already the last day, but I feel like the energy has been even better since yesterday," Winter said.

For "Angel #48" and "Camouflage," the members climbed onto carts shaped like giant lemonade cans and made their way around the dome. They waved to audience seated in the upper levels as they passed, drawing cheers from across the venue.

"KISS N TELL" came next before another VCR moved the story into "confinement." What followed was the "awakening" section, giving each member time away from the full-group stages.

Giselle and Ningning opened with "Lollipop," a dreamy R&B unit track they both helped write and compose. In soft-toned outfits, the pair kept the performance sweet and playful.

Karina came out next in a long black coat for "16 Bit." The performance started quietly, with smaller, controlled movements, before building as the song went on. It was less sharp and aggressive than some of her previous solo stages, and the heavier groove suited her well.

Winter went bigger with "Saddle Up." Everything turned red as she moved through the choreography with her dancers and hit her high notes without losing much force. On her own in the middle of Gocheok Dome, she still looked every bit like a solo performer.

Giselle began "BYEB4HELLO" at a standing microphone. The song itself was light and bouncy, but she saved a surprise for the end with a dance break. Ningning followed with "I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go," wearing a flowing outfit with wing-like details. A live string section played behind her, but her voice remained the focus.

The screams started almost immediately when Karina and Winter appeared together in black for "Serenade." Of the unit stages, theirs drew one of the biggest reactions of the night.

The final VCR brought aespa's conflict with ae-aespa to its climax. The members warned what happens when someone "dares to mess with the originals" before returning to the stage for "Armageddon." Dancers carrying huge flags swept across the stage as the live band kicked in, adding even more weight to the performance.

The energy stayed high through "Bite" and "Drama," before aespa moved into "Next Level," "SHAKIN'" and "Supernova." By then, the crowd was singing along to every familiar line, while the members fed off the cheers and continued to move across the stage with little sign of slowing down.

It was a demanding set, from five songs back-to-back at the start to the solo and unit stages in the middle and some of their biggest hits saved for the final stretch. Still, aespa never seemed overwhelmed by either the pace of the show or the size of the venue.

That may have been the clearest sign of how much the group has changed over four world tours. Their first Gocheok Dome show was a milestone, but onstage, they didn't treat it like something they had to prove they belonged in. They simply performed like they already did.

Closing out the night, Winter thanked fans for filling the dome. "We never imagined we could fill this place," she said. "We'll keep working hard to show you new and improved sides of ourselves."

Karina also thanked fans for continuing to support the group. "Thank you for always choosing aespa," she said. "We'll become an even better aespa, so please look forward to us."

Following the Seoul concerts, aespa will take "SYNK : COMPLaeXITY" to 25 regions across North and South America and Europe.
