Red Velvet's Joy and Wendy pulled back the curtain on how the group actually makes decisions together. The two members shared behind-the-scenes stories from their recent comeback, including which members push ideas and which ones rein them in.

The conversation aired on the YouTube channel "새고_F5," on a segment called "덕밥집 2호점," on the 11th. Both members had just wrapped promotions for the group's latest release.

Joy called out Wendy for shutting down too many of her pitches. Wendy is the group's realist, focused on the here and now. "Every time I come up with an idea, she cuts it way too much," Joy said.

Wendy pushed back with her own logic. "There's a limit to how far an idea can actually go, and someone has to manage that," she said. She added that her instinct is to ask, "Is this really the right call?" The one who mediates in the middle, she said, is SEULGI.

Joy and Seulgi are the two members who throw out the most ideas. "Irene and Wendy are usually the ones who cut things down," Joy said.

Listening in, host Changmin guessed that the youngest member, Yeri, probably reads the room and thinks, "They'll figure it out anyway." Joy and Wendy shot the theory down right away. "She doesn't read the room at all," they said, drawing laughs. Wendy added that Yeri is "cool and a free spirit."

The exchange offered a rare look at how a veteran K-pop group balances five distinct personalities behind the scenes. After more than a decade together, Red Velvet's creative process runs on a clear internal system: some members pitch, some members edit, and one keeps the peace in the middle.
