ATEEZ Hongjoong To Continue Activities Despite Rib Fracture Diagnosis

ATEEZ member Hongjoong has been diagnosed with a rib fracture after visiting the hospital due to a persistent cough.

On August 14, KQ Entertainment released an official statement regarding Hongjoong’s health and upcoming activities, revealing that the singer recently underwent a medical examination after experiencing coughing symptoms.

According to the agency, Hongjoong was diagnosed with a rib fracture and was advised by medical professionals to receive sufficient rest.

Although KQ Entertainment recommended that Hongjoong take time away from his schedule to recover, the agency explained that the ATEEZ leader expressed his desire to participate in previously scheduled activities. As a result, he will continue with upcoming engagements as much as his condition allows.

However, his participation in performances may be adjusted depending on his health. In particular, KQ Entertainment noted that Hongjoong’s involvement in the "ISTANBUL FESTIVALI" scheduled for August 14 could be limited based on his physical condition.

"We will continue to closely monitor HONGJOONG’s condition and make flexible adjustments to his upcoming schedule as needed, ensuring that he has sufficient time to rest and focus on his recovery," the company stated.

On X many users took to wishing the ATEEZ leader a speedy recovery saying, "hongjoong loves ateez and atinys so much that he still chooses to perform despite having a fractured rib.. i hope he knows that we’ll support him no matter what and that his health comes before anything."

While others, while maintaining worry for him, found the situation a bit humorous, joking how even while injured Hongjoong is still choosing to perform. Another X user noted, "Not the notice being of basically KQ saying "girl we tried our best but this workaholic won’t listen to us or anybody"

Meanwhile, KQ Entertainment has added that it would continue to prioritize Hongjoong's health and safety while monitoring his recovery.
