JTBC Drama 'The Apartment Job' Wraps With Ji Sung Reclaiming 17.8 Billion Won
JTBC drama "The Apartment Job" ended its run on a high note, with lead actor Ji Sung reclaiming 17.8 billion won on screen and the series posting its best-ever rating. The finale, which aired on the 16th, drew a 7.7% rating, a new high for the show.
In the last episode, Park Hae-gang, played by Ji Sung, faced off against Lee Chung-won, played by Park Byung-eun, and recovered the 17.8 billion won at the center of the story.
Park Hae-gang realized he had walked into a trap when he opened the building maintenance fund box and found only flyers inside. He left Kang Ha-ri, played by Ha Yoon-kyung, behind despite her protests and went after Lee Chung-won. Along the way, he rescued Domabaem, played by Kim Won-hae, who had been locked inside a metal drum.
Park Hae-gang then moved on Lee Chung-won's base, Taegowon. Police discovered 12 bodies at the site, and Lee Chung-won lost control. Cornered, he called Park Hae-gang and offered to hand over the 17.8 billion won. When Lee Chung-won admitted he had killed Park Yong-man, played by Jung Jin-young, Park Hae-gang overpowered him and picked up a knife. He stopped himself after remembering Park Yong-man's final wish, and gathered the 17.8 billion won scattered across the floor.
Lee Chung-won was taken into custody by prosecutors and denied the charges. Park Hae-gang used a campaign truck from an election rally to broadcast a recording of Lee Chung-won's confession along with video evidence of his crimes. Lee Chung-won stood trial and met the end fitting a villain.
Park Hae-gang served his own prison sentence and later opened a law office, starting a new chapter. Kang Ha-ri became the lawyer she had always wanted to be. The residents who stood by them took a family photo together, closing the story on a happy ending.
"The Apartment Job" will be followed on the JTBC schedule by "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency," a drama that originally aired in 2019.
