NCT 127 Expands Sound on New Album With 'IKR' and 'Getaway'

NCT 127 is offering another look at the musical range of its upcoming seventh full-length album, "BLINGY."

Among the album's nine tracks is "IKR," an upbeat hip-hop song built around synths reminiscent of arcade game effects and shifts in sound across its different sections. Short for "I Know, Right?," the track carries a confident message about rejecting predictable choices and continuing to surprise people on the group's own terms.

"Getaway," meanwhile, moves in a different direction. The indie pop track pairs retro synths with a funky rhythm and relaxed, organic production. Its lyrics offer a brief escape from the rush of everyday life, inviting listeners to leave without a destination and simply enjoy the moment.

Fans will get their first preview of both songs when NCT 127 releases the album's highlight medley at midnight on Aug. 19 KST. The video will feature snippets of all nine tracks, including previously introduced title track "Blingy."

NCT 127's seventh studio album, "BLINGY," will be released Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. KST.
