ATEEZ Tops K-POPIT BOARD After Drawing 65,000 to Istanbul Festival
Following another successful festival appearance despite being almost a member down, ATEEZ has climbed to the top on the K-POPIT Board's Global Rise Chart, showcasing a strong daily growth and even fan conversion following the performance.
According to K-POPIT BOARD, the K-POP analytics index, ATEEZ ranked No. 1 on the Global Rise Chart on August 19 with a Power Index (PWR_GL) score of 72. The Power Index combines data from music charts, social media activity and news coverage to measure an artist's overall momentum.
This comes after the group performed at Turkey’s Istanbul Festivali, one of the country’s major annual music festivals. Running from August 1 to 16 at Festival Park Yenikapı, its fifth edition brought together a wide range of Turkish and international artists, while also introducing dedicated K-POP programming for the first time.
The two-day K-POP segment labeled the “Korea Festival Segment” saw artists such as Kwon Eunbi and ATEEZ take on August 14, followed by Sunmi and MONSTA X on August 15. While all four artists were met with enthusiastic responses, as for many of them it was their first time in the country, ATEEZ's appearance stood out for the sheer scale of the crowd. It was reported that approximately 65,000 people had attended the festival that night.
Videos from the performance quickly spread across social media, with particular attention placed on the volume of the audience as thousands sang and cheered throughout the group's set. Reactions from attendees also pointed toward interest extending beyond existing ATINYs, with non-fans sharing their impressions of ATEEZ after seeing them perform live.
The appearance was made even more notable by leader Hongjoong's participation as he had recently been diagnosed with a collapsed lung. This had raised a lot of uncertainty over whether he would be able to participate in the group's upcoming schedules. However, Hongjoong ultimately joined the remaining seven members on stage in Istanbul, although his participation was adjusted with his recovery in mind.
The reception continued beyond the festival itself. Social media discussion surrounding ATEEZ increased following the performance, with clips and reactions circulating among both fans and those discovering the group through the festival. The response is particularly notable when viewed alongside ATEEZ's subsequent rise on the K-POPIT Board, suggesting the appearance generated not only immediate attention but potential fan conversion.
ATEEZ's Istanbul appearance adds to the group's growing reputation as a festival act capable of reaching audiences beyond traditional K-POP spaces. As the group continues to expand its presence at major international events, the latest Global Rise Chart ranking demonstrates how those performances can translate into significant momentum even after ATEEZ leaves the stage.
