Kim So-hyun Joins Song Kang in MBC Romance Drama 'White Scandal'
Actress Kim So-hyun is set to lead a new MBC romance drama alongside Song Kang. Her agency, Peach Company, confirmed on Tuesday that she has signed on to star in "White Scandal," MBC's upcoming Friday-Saturday series.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, "White Scandal" follows a third-generation chaebol actor who wants nothing to do with inheriting the family business and a former child star whose career has collapsed. The two enter a fake relationship and slowly work through old wounds together. Song Kang plays the reluctant heir, Dan Yi-hyuk, and Kim So-hyun plays the fallen actress, Ji Eun-seol.
Ji Eun-seol was once a rising child actress before a single incident derailed her career. Unable to let go of her dream of acting, she now works as a manager. When she crosses paths again with Dan Yi-hyuk, who stood at the center of that past incident, buried secrets begin to surface.
The project marks a reunion for Kim So-hyun and Song Kang. The two previously starred together in the Netflix series "Love Alarm" as Kim Jojo and Hwang Sun-oh, appearing in Season 1 in 2019 and Season 2 in 2021. Their return to the screen together after about five years is already drawing attention from viewers.
Kim So-hyun has built a steady run of leading roles in recent years, including "The Tale of Nokdu," "River Where the Moon Rises," "Serendipity's Embrace," and "Good Boy." In October, she also has ENA's "Love Doctor" set to premiere, keeping her on screen back-to-back for fans.
"White Scandal" is scheduled to begin production soon.
