K-pop group BIGBANG's G-Dragon invited descendants of independence activists and Korean War veterans, along with correctional officers, to the group's 20th-anniversary world tour.

The Juspeace Foundation said on Aug. 26 that G-Dragon, who serves as its honorary chair, personally purchased and donated the concert tickets used for the invitation.

The initiative was part of the foundation's "Hero Recovery" program. Last year, G-Dragon invited uniformed public servants, including firefighters and police officers, to his solo world tour through the same program. This year, the foundation expanded the initiative to include descendants of national heroes and correctional officers.

"Our ordinary lives are made possible by the sacrifice and dedication of others, as well as by those who continue to fulfill their responsibilities in their respective roles," said Oh Hee-young, head of the Juspeace Foundation. "Even if this is not a grand gesture of repayment, we wanted to let them know that society has not forgotten their service."

BIGBANG opened its "XX : COSMOS" world tour with three concerts at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province from Aug. 21 to 23. The tour is scheduled to span 33 shows across 19 cities worldwide, including Oakland, Paris, London and Sydney.
