Han Hyo-joo Plays Lawyer-Turned-Sports Agent in 'Your Ground'

Actors Han Hyo-joo, Gong Myoung, Kim Shin-rok, and Sung Joon are teaming up for the new MBC drama "Your Ground" (Neoui Geuraundeu).

The Friday-Saturday series follows Kang Hae-hwan, a baseball player whose career stalled after a single crushing setback, and Seo Hee-seung, a lawyer-turned-sports agent who helps him chase his dream again. It is a romance drama centered on their reunion.

Director Lee Sang-yeob is at the helm. His credits include the "Yumi's Cells" series, "My Youth" (Mai Yuseu), "A Piece of Your Mind" (Banui Ban), "Familiar Wife" (Aneun Waipeu), and "Shopping King Louie" (Syopingwang Rui). Writer Hwang Hae-yeon penned the script.

Han plays Seo Hee-seung, a lawyer who has never lost a case in court. When her law firm's head sends her to work at the sports agency Donghaeng, she steps into the pro baseball world for the first time. She knows nothing about the sport, but her competitive streak carries her through the learning curve. Along the way, she runs into her first love, Kang Hae-hwan, 11 years after their last meeting.

Gong Myoung plays Kang Hae-hwan, a right-handed pitcher for the Miracles who was called a "genius pitcher" since his high school days. After an incident derailed his playing career, he fell into a long slump. He starts working his way back to the mound after Seo Hee-seung steps in as his self-appointed agent. In the drama, Han and Gong Myoung play first loves who reunite after 11 years apart.

Kim Shin-rok plays Dong Chi-yeong, the head of the sports agency Donghaeng. A veteran agent who handles player contracts, free agency, and salary talks, she is known in the industry as a cold-blooded negotiator.

Sung Joon plays Yoon Yi-seok, Kang Hae-hwan's rival. A sidearm pitcher for the Miracles, Yoon Yi-seok rose to become the team's ace while Kang Hae-hwan was away. He wants his teammate back, but the two must compete on the mound. His ties to Seo Hee-seung further complicate the dynamic among the three.

"Your Ground" is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year.
