Why Rosé Turns Down From a $7.2M Endorsement
K-pop group BLACKPINK's Rosé has reportedly turned down a multimillion-dollar endorsement deal. The singer passed on an offer worth about $7.2 million to become a brand ambassador for a well-known Chinese tea drink company, according to a Sept. 2 report by The Korea Herald.
Rosé is also said to have been in talks with a major champagne brand for roughly a year over a collaboration that ultimately fell through. The two sides had discussed launching a special-edition product bearing her name. According to reports, the proposed bottle design did not meet her aesthetic standards, contributing to the deal falling through.
The decisions suggest that Rosé is weighing more than the size of a contract. She appears to be considering how each partnership could affect her image as an artist, including the brand's identity, the quality of the product and whether it aligns with her own creative direction before signing on.
Rosé released "APT.," her collaboration with Bruno Mars, on Oct. 18, 2024. The song reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, further expanding her global influence. She returned to group activities in February with BLACKPINK's mini album "DEADLINE."
