i-dle's Soyeon Stands on Office Desk to Declare, "I'm Quitting"
i-dle's Soyeon is turning office workers' desire to quit into music. The rapper and producer will release her first full-length solo album, "My Damn Life," on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. KST through major streaming platforms.
Her agency, Cube Entertainment, shared a new teaser poster on i-dle's official social media on Sept. 4, three days ahead of the release.
In the image, Soyeon stands on top of an office desk with a displeased expression. A company ID badge hangs from her neck, while a sash reading "I'm quitting" is draped over her shoulder. The image follows the previously released D-4 poster, in which she sat in front of a switched-off monitor. This time, she appears as an office worker who has finally decided to walk away.
The top of the poster reads, "I'm quitting. No regrets, nothing to miss," offering an early glimpse of the title track's message.
"My Damn Life" captures Soyeon's inner thoughts and experiences through a series of candid stories. Its title track, "I'm gonna TOESA (Narr. Kian84)", speaks to office workers who dream of quitting and offers them a measure of comfort. Korean webtoon artist and television personality Kian84 contributes narration to the song.
"What a Wonderful Life" contains eight tracks: "I'm gonna TOESA (Narr. Kian84)," "Bankroll," "icebluerabbit," "STAR," "Hate veggie song," "Amigo (feat. Minsu)," "Would you love me" and "Goodbye, Romance."
Soyeon has long played a central role in shaping i-dle's musical identity. She wrote and produced many of the group's signature songs, including "TOMBOY," "Nxde" and "Queencard," leading both its concepts and messages. With her first full-length solo album, she will bring her own perspective and stories to the forefront as both a producer and an artist.
