Actress Han So-hee is stepping into new territory in her latest film, showing off both her singing and dancing on screen.

The film "The Intern" is a Korean remake of the Hollywood movie of the same name, directed by Kim Do-young. It follows Seon-woo (played by Han So-hee), the founder of a fashion company that has become a rising force in the industry just three years after launch, and Gi-ho, a 37-year veteran who joins her office as a silver intern. The story centers on the office dynamic that forms across generations and ranks.

The film's cast met with the press on Sept. 8 at a cafe in the Samcheong-dong neighborhood of Jongno district, Seoul, alongside co-star Choi Min-sik, who plays Gi-ho.

At the event, Han So-hee spoke about the scene in which she performs aespa's "Whiplash." "I was in the middle of doing fan meetings at the time, so the only dance I could really pull off was 'Whiplash.' We filmed the scene without the music playing," she said. "I was worried it might come off looking silly, but it turned out okay."

She also sang Insooni's "A Goose's Dream" in the film. When reporters complimented her vocals, she brushed it off with a laugh. "You're just saying that."

She added, "Of all the songs, it had to be one by Insooni. If it were an easier song, I could have leaned on some echo. But having to sing it live on set with no accompaniment nearly drove me crazy. I really gave it everything. I wasn't pretending to sing badly on purpose."

"The Intern" opens in theaters on Sept.16.
