IU Suits Up in Spaceship for New Single 'From This Star'

Singer IU is heading into her next release with a science-fiction twist.

Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, unveiled concept photos on September 8 at midnight KST for her new digital single "From This Star," posted through the artist's official social media accounts.

In the images, IU wears a full spacesuit inside what looks like the interior of a spacecraft. In one shot she gazes at Earth through a window. In another she stands holding her helmet at her side. A separate set trades the spacesuit for a gray knit sweater, showing her seated indoors. She has also swapped her longtime long hair for a shorter bob, a clear visual reset for this era.

The space setting is not new to the rollout. Earlier teaser videos and the track list, released one by one, leaned on the same cosmic theme, and the new photos keep that world intact.

"From This Star" is a double A-side single featuring the title track and "Dear my crazy soulmate." IU wrote the lyrics for both songs. The release also works as a preview of her upcoming sixth full-length album, since both tracks are set to appear on that record.

"From This Star" drops September 10 at 6 p.m. KST across major music platforms.
