NEXZ Makes Latin America Debut at Stray Kids-Led 'STRAYCITY' Festival in Bogotá
JYP Entertainment rookie group NEXZ is heading to Latin America for the first time. The seven-member act will perform at "STRAYCITY," a new music festival built around labelmates Stray Kids, with its opening show in Bogotá, Colombia.
NEXZ, made up of Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Gun, Seita, Hui, and Yuki, takes the "STRAYCITY" stage in Bogotá at 9 a.m. KST on Wednesday.
"STRAYCITY" is a new festival launched by JYP Entertainment and global promoter Live Nation, built around Stray Kids. The inaugural edition runs across three cities. It opens in Bogotá, Colombia on September 9 local time, moves to Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 14 and 15, and closes in Mexico City, Mexico on September 25 and 26.
NEXZ, which debuted in May 2024, has never performed in Latin America before. The members plan to introduce the group to local audiences through the songs they have released so far, with a focus on choreography-driven stages.
Ahead of the show, NEXZ shared a message through the agency. "We studied Spanish for today. It's still not enough, but we'll do our best for the fans who have been waiting," the group said. "We've prepared several stages, including a new song made for the festival called 'SAUCIN'.'"
The members also spoke about sharing the bill with Stray Kids. "Watching our seniors' stages, we've learned about strong individuality and live performance in the moment. We paid close attention to how they lead a stage and communicate with the audience, and we're preparing with those things in mind," they said. "At this show, too, we'll look for things to learn and keep building NEXZ's own color and experience." Photos released with the message showed the members holding microphones as they prepared for rehearsal.
After Bogotá, NEXZ continues its South American run with a set at Rock in Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 11 local time.
