Actor Byun Yo-han opened up about the preparation behind his bed scene in "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub," the fourth and final installment of the long-running Korean crime film series. The actor said the shoot pushed him to completely overhaul his body and lifestyle for months.

A press screening for the film, directed by Choi Kook-hee, was held recently at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan district, Seoul. Choi attended alongside stars Byun Yo-han and Roh Jae-won.

Billed as the closing chapter of the "Tazza" franchise, "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" follows Jang Tae-young (Byun Yo-han), a gambler who believes he has conquered the world through an online casino empire, and his best friend Park Tae-young (Roh Jae-won), who shares his name and ultimately takes everything from him. The two reunite on a global gambling stage for a showdown driven by revenge.

Byun plays Jang Tae-young, a sharp-eyed gambler who follows his instincts all the way to the top of the online casino business. Taking on the lead role in the final installment of a series that has spanned two decades gave him a sense of release. "It feels good to finally prepare a 'Tazza' project after 20 years," he said.

The role required both action and intimate scenes, and Byun said the director gave him a clear assignment before shooting began. "The director gave me homework, which was to lose weight," he said. "I was over 80 kilograms at the time, so I dropped 10 kilograms. I stuck to a strict diet. I put all my time into it."

He then drew laughs from the room by circling back to the question. "Was the question about how I did the bed scene?" he asked. He explained that he maintained the strict routine until filming wrapped. "For the bed scene, I kept the diet and stayed disciplined until the film wrapped. I prepared thinking that kind of restraint would mirror Jang Tae-young's life."

"Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" opens on Sept. 23.
