Byeon Woo-seok Purchases Luxury Seoul Home for 13 Billion Won
Actor Byeon Woo-seok has purchased a unit at Hannam The Hill, one of Seoul's most expensive apartment complexes, for 13 billion won in cash. The purchase was made without a mortgage, according to real estate industry sources and public property records.
Records from the Supreme Court's online registry office, reviewed on Sept.10, show that Byeon Woo-seok bought a 235-square-meter unit at Hannam The Hill in Seoul's Yongsan district in May. He completed the final payment and ownership transfer on Sept. 2. No mortgage was registered against the property.
Built in 2011 on the former grounds of Dankook University, Hannam The Hill is a 600-unit complex widely known as one of South Korea's top ultra-luxury residences. Its residents include major business leaders, political figures, and well-known entertainers. Larger units at the complex regularly sell for more than 10 billion won. In May of last year, a 332-square-meter duplex sold for 19 billion won, setting a new record for the complex.
Byeon Woo-seok is currently filming the new Netflix original series "Solo Leveling." The action-fantasy show is based on the hit Korean web novel of the same name, which has attracted a global readership. It follows Sung Jin-woo, an E-rank hunter considered the weakest among those who protect the real world from monsters that emerge through mysterious gates. After a near-death experience, he awakens to new powers and levels up into the strongest hunter capable of saving the world. The cast also includes Han So-hee, Kang Mi-na, Kang Yu-seok, and Cha Woo-min.
