Actress Kim Yoo-jung tells a lie straight to Park Jin Young's face in the first teaser for tvN's new weekend drama "100 Days of Deception." The teaser dropped on Sept. 11, roughly one month before the show's premiere.

Released as part of tvN's 20th anniversary lineup, "100 Days of Deception" is a 100-day spy romance set in colonial-era Gyeongseong, the old name for Seoul. The story follows a top pickpocket who becomes a secret agent and crosses paths with an elite interpreter working inside the Japanese Government-General of Korea.

The teaser tracks the growing suspicion that Park Jin Young's character, Kim Tae-woong, feels toward Lee Ga-kyung, played by Kim Yoo-jung. The two meet on a train bound for Gyeongseong, then run into each other again at a private home, and finally face off at the Government-General office, where Lee has gone undercover.

Each time they meet, Lee appears under a new identity. "A pickpocket, a live-in maid, and now an interpreter at the Government-General," Tae-woong says, calling out the pattern. Inside the office, Lee uses the alias Geum Seo-hee and works as an interpreter trainee.

Kim's father, Sato Shinichi, is the political affairs director of the Government-General and is played by Jin Seon-kyu. He gives his son a direct order about Lee. "Make her depend on you. Make her trust you," he says. On the other side, Yoo So-ran, played by Kim Hyun-joo, leads the anti-Japanese resistance group that sent Lee into the Government-General. She hands Lee a new mission of her own. "Win Sato Hideo's heart. Bring him to your side."

Both characters are now under pressure to win over someone they cannot fully trust. "Why do you keep trying to get tangled up with me?" Tae-woong asks. "Who are you, really?"

The teaser ends on the moment that gives the clip its hook. "I like you. I have, since the first time we met," Lee tells Tae-woong. Behind her back, she crosses her fingers, signaling that the confession is a lie.

"100 Days of Deception" premieres Oct. 10 at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN.
