ENA's upcoming romance drama "Between Steps" is teasing a love story where both leads hold back, even as they are drawn closer together.

The production released a second teaser on Monday centered on the shifting relationship between Park Min-jae, played by Choo Young-woo, and Lim Yu-jin, played by Kim So-hyun. The drama premieres Oct. 5 at 10 p.m. KST on ENA, with same-day streaming on KT's Genie TV and Disney+.

"Between Steps" follows Park Min-jae, a doctoral student who was a competitive swimmer in high school before losing one leg to an illness, and Lim Yu-jin, a master's student who lost direction in her career before finding a new path. The project reunites two established names in Korean romance dramas. It is the latest work from director Ahn Pan-seok, known for "The Midnight Romance in Hagwon," "Something in the Rain," "One Spring Night" and "Secret Love Affair." The script comes from writer Min Hyo-jung, who wrote the hit drama "Full House," a series that peaked at a 40.2% viewership rating.

The new teaser opens with Lim Yu-jin's confession. "I'm confessing to you properly. I like you a lot," she tells Park Min-jae. He cannot answer right away, lost in his own thoughts. Scenes follow of him holding back his anger while pushing through the pain in his leg.

The clip cuts between Lim Yu-jin wiping away tears alone and Park Min-jae sitting with a hollow expression. Both have feelings for each other, but their personal struggles keep them from getting closer.

Lim Yu-jin tries again to put her feelings into words. "No matter how petty or mean you are, I can't bring myself to dislike you," she says. Her confession raises the central question of whether the two can finally close the distance between them.
