Ahn Hyo-seop Plays a Globe-Trotting Chef in New JTBC Drama 'Final Table'

Actor Ahn Hyo-seop is stepping into the kitchen for his next role. He will play a chef competing in a high-stakes culinary survival competition in the upcoming JTBC drama "Final Table," set to premiere Oct. 24 at 10:40 p.m. KST.

The series is set against a fictional competition called "The Table: K Chef 2026," which aims to crown Korea's top chef. It follows Korean chefs from around the world as they come together to compete.

Ahn Hyo-seop plays Kang Han, a Korean chef who built his career overseas, known for his sharp technique and a strong sense of style. His family background and nationality are left unspecified. Restless by nature, he rarely stays in one place for long, working at a different restaurant each year as he moves between countries.

Kang Han returns to South Korea for a short break after signing with a well-known restaurant in New York. During the visit, he stops by Familia, a restaurant tied to memories of his father, and unexpectedly ends up taking over as its head chef. He puts his move to the United States on hold and enters "The Table: K Chef 2026," throwing himself into the competition.

Released stills show Kang Han cooking in a variety of settings, from nature and traditional markets to the restaurant itself. In one image he shops for ingredients at a market. In another, he is seen carrying a hunting rifle.

Other photos capture him preparing for the competition after taking over as head chef at Familia. He is shown focused on his cooking in the kitchen, putting the skills he has built over the years on display.

This is the first time Ahn Hyo-seop has taken on a chef role. He has mostly worked in romance projects until now, so attention is building around the new side he will show through "Final Table."

"Final Table" premieres Oct. 24 at 10:40 p.m. KST on JTBC. It will also stream on Amazon Prime Video.
