Stray Kids' Felix Postpones Birthday Live Following Fan's Death in Argentina

Stray Kids' Felix postponed his birthday live broadcast amid mourning over the death of a 16-year-old fan ahead of the group's concert in Argentina.

JYP Entertainment announced that Felix's birthday live, scheduled to take place locally on Sept. 15, would not go ahead as planned.

"We regret to inform you that Felix's birthday live, scheduled for today, will unfortunately be postponed due to unforeseen local circumstances," the agency said. It added that the broadcast would be held at a later date.

The postponement came after a 16-year-old Stray Kids fan died following a medical emergency near the Hipódromo de San Isidro, where the group was holding its "STRAYCITY" concerts.

According to Argentine media outlets, the teenager became unwell on Sept. 14 while preparing to enter the venue with her 22-year-old sister-in-law. She had not yet entered the concert venue when the medical emergency occurred.

Emergency personnel treated her at the scene before transporting her to Hospital Central de San Isidro. Despite resuscitation efforts, she later died. Authorities have been investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

Concert organizer DF Entertainment expressed condolences to the teenager's family and said it was cooperating with authorities. Local officials also said emergency medical personnel, ambulances and other required safety measures had been in place for the concert.

Stray Kids went ahead with their second show at the venue on Sept. 15. During the concert, a message was displayed expressing the group's sadness over the fan's death.

"We are deeply saddened to learn that a STAY passed away after experiencing a sudden medical emergency before entering the venue yesterday," the message read. The group also asked concertgoers to observe a minute of silence in her memory.

JYP Entertainment did not explicitly state that Felix's birthday broadcast was postponed because of the fan's death, referring only to "unforeseen local circumstances."
