WJSN's Eunseo Leaves Starship Entertainment After 14 Years

WJSN member Eunseo has parted ways with her longtime agency. The singer announced her departure from Starship Entertainment on Instagram on Sept. 17, closing a chapter that began 14 years ago.

"I sincerely thank all the staff at Starship and King Kong by Starship who have been with me through my start and my growth for 14 years," Eunseo wrote. "Now I plan to hold that time close to me and walk a new path."

She added that the decision did not come easily. "So many memoroies from my youth remain with Starship and King Kong by Starship, so making up my mind was not easy," she said. "But I feel excited and hopeful about the time I will build from here."

Eunseo also thanked the group's fandom, UJUNG. "I will not forget the precious hearts and love from UJUNG, who have always loved and supported me, and I will work hard to greet you with good activities," she wrote.

Fellow member SeolA, the oldest in the group, has also reportedly left the agency.

WJSN debuted in 2016 and reached its 10th anniversary this year. Beginning in the second half of 2018, Chinese members Cheng Xiao, Xuan Yi, and Mei Qi halted their activities in South Korea, and the group carried on as a 10-member Korean lineup. The three officially left in 2023 during their contract renewal period. Korean members Luda and Dawon also did not renew their contracts.

The latest exits leave the group's future lineup an open question as it moves into its second decade.
