Bang Chan of Stray Kids Gives 200 Million Won to Seoul Hospital, UNICEF

Stray Kids leader Bang Chan has donated a total of 200 million won (roughly $145,000) to support a specialized rehabilitation center in Seoul and flood recovery efforts in Nepal.

The singer gave 100 million won each to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and the Korean Committee for UNICEF. The hospital will use the funds to build tailored rehabilitation programs based on patient age and condition. UNICEF Korea will direct its share toward recovery from the recent large-scale flooding in Nepal.

"I wanted to offer a small bit of comfort to people going through an exhausting and difficult time," Bang Chan said through his agency, JYP Entertainment. "I sincerely hope that many of them can return to a peaceful daily life as soon as possible."

The donation adds to a long list of charitable gifts from the Stray Kids leader. On his birthday last October 3, he gave 200 million won total, split evenly between Samsung Medical Center for pediatric patient treatment and UNICEF Korea for children worldwide. On his 2024 birthday, he donated 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea to support people with developmental disabilities, which earned him membership in the Honor Society, a high-level donor group.

In 2025, he joined his Stray Kids bandmates in giving to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association and World Vision Korea for wildfire recovery in the Gyeongsang region, as well as to World Vision Hong Kong for fire recovery there.

Bang Chan recently became the K-pop idol with the most songwriting credits registered at the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), with 244 songs to his name. He continues to lead Stray Kids on the global stage through the group's new music festival "STRAYCITY" and the ongoing world tour "RUN IT."
