IZ*ONE Bond Still Strong: Yena Mentions Members at ATA Festival

Choi Yena heated up the late-summer Han River with multiple hit songs which commanded the expansive festival stage on her own from start to finish.

The 2026 Asia Top Artist Festival (ATA Festival) was held on September 20 at Nanji Hangang Park in Sangam-dong, Seoul.

Sharing her thoughts on joining the festival, Choi Yena said, "This is my first time at the ATA Festival. The weather is really nice. I was actually a little worried that it might be cold, but it's neither cold nor too hot, it's just right. I'm happy that I can enjoy the ATA Festival together with all of you in such great weather."

Released in March, Choi Yena's "Catch Catch" received a positive response for its playful concept and addictive melody. The track also clearly showcased Yena's distinctive musical identity, further strengthening her position as a solo artist.

Yena said, "Lately, I've really been able to feel just how much attention and love I'm receiving. I've always made music while pursuing the things that I personally enjoy, and I think many people have recognized that sincerity. I'll continue working hard and moving forward while doing the things I love."

"Catch Catch" sparked a dance challenge trend with its playful point choreography. Yena helped fuel the song's popularity by filming challenge videos with a number of fellow artists. In particular, fans were delighted to see her reunite on camera with several of her former IZ*ONE bandmates, including LE SSERAFIM's Kim Chaewon, Lee Chaeyeon, SAY MY NAME's Hitomi and singer-actress Jo Yuri.

Asked which challenge remained the most memorable to her, Yena answered, "The video I filmed with the members." Her immediate response reflected the affection and close friendship that remains between the former IZ*ONE members.

Known for her bright, cheerful image as well as her strong vocals and dance skills, Yena has explored a variety of genres throughout her career. Asked what kind of genre or concept she would like to try next, she said, "I'm not someone who is afraid of challenges. I'd also like to try a cool concept that I haven't done before."

Meanwhile, hosted by Hankyung Media Group including TenAsia and Hankyung.com, 'ATA Festival' is a comprehensive K-culture festival spanning music, K-food, K-beauty, and K-fashion, held over two days from September 19 to 20.

Following day one, which featured Hi-Fi Un!corn, Kim Su-young, Lee Oh-wook, Dynamic Duo, Car, the garden, LUCY, &TEAM, and CNBLUE—the second-day lineup concluded the festival on a high note with Dragon Pony, Choi Ye-na, Choi Hyun-wook, Daybreak, Urban Zakapa, ALPHADRIVE ONE, Lee Mu-jin, KickFlip, Jannabi, and ATEEZ.
