BLACKPINK and KATSEYE Land 2026 MTV VMA Nominations

K-POP is once again a major presence at the MTV Video Music Awards. BTS, BLACKPINK, CORTIS and KATSEYE have all been named to the additional list of nominees for the 2026 MTV VMAs, one of the biggest annual pop music ceremonies in the United States.

According to the ceremony's official website, the four acts will compete head-to-head in the Best Group category. The additional nominees were revealed on Sept. 18 local time.

The Song of Summer category, which recognizes the season's biggest hits, also leans heavily on K-pop. KATSEYE's "HOOTIE FRUTTI" is up for the prize, along with "DRACULA," a collaboration between BLACKPINK's Jennie and Australian artist Tame Impala.

BTS is now up for three awards in total, including previously announced nods for Song of the Year and Best K-Pop. The group has a strong track record in the Best Group race, winning the category four years in a row from 2019 to 2022.

CORTIS and KATSEYE each picked up three nominations as well, giving both rookie acts a notable showing on a global stage.

The 2026 MTV VMAs will take place on Sept. 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
