TWICE's Jeongyeon Signals Acting Pivot With New Agency, Film Role

TWICE member Jeongyeon has spoken out for the first time since parting ways with her longtime agency. The singer returned to Instagram on Sept. 22 with a set of photos and short videos simply captioned, "Summer."

The posts show Jeongyeon outdoors, enjoying the early fall weather in Seoul. Fans quickly noticed her slimmer figure and a more mature appearance in the images, which prompted a wave of comments within hours of being posted.

Last month, Jeongyeon announced her move to a new agency move in a handwritten letter to fans. She has signed with Baro Entertainment, an actor-focused agency that also represents her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon. Soon after the news broke, it was reported that Jeongyeon will appear in the film "Shinbyeong: The Movie," set for release in the second half of this year, marking a shift toward acting.

Born in 1996, Jeongyeon turns 31 this year. She debuted as a member of TWICE in 2015, and the group celebrated its 10th anniversary this year.
