BOYNEXTDOOR Goes Electro-Funk With First Taste of "ANIMAL"

BOYNEXTDOOR is trying electro-funk for the first time with their upcoming title track "ANIMAL."

The group shared the first audio previews from "HOME: DELUXE," the repackage of its first full-length album, through the HYBE Labels YouTube channel on September 21.

The preview introduces five tracks being added to the album: title track "ANIMAL," new song "CLICHE," a Korean version of "Count To Love," Japanese digital single "Boom Boom Boom" and fan song "400 Years."

"ANIMAL" marks BOYNEXTDOOR's first attempt at electro-funk and channels the drive to continually surpass oneself and move toward something better. The lyrics compare relentlessly pursuing what you want to the energetic movement of an animal.

Jaehyun, Taesan and Woonhak are credited on the track, while KOZ Entertainment producer and artist ZICO also participated in its creation. Pop Time and Kako, who have worked regularly with the group, handled production.

"CLICHE" moves into disco, using the idea of a romantic cliché to describe unexpectedly falling in love while "Count To Love (Korean Ver.)" is a Korean-language version of the title track from BOYNEXTDOOR's second Japanese single BOYLIFE, released in August 2025.

Meanwhile "Boom Boom Boom" was released as the group's second Japanese digital single this August. The final addition, "400 Years," has a longer history with the group. Originally shared through BOYNEXTDOOR's YouTube channel as its first fan song in January 2024, the track will receive its first official audio release through "HOME: DELUXE."

Together with the nine songs from HOME, the additions bring the repackage to 14 tracks.

"HOME: DELUXE" will be released on September 28 at 6 p.m. KST. Before then, BOYNEXTDOOR will reveal the first music video teaser for "ANIMAL" on September 24.
