The 'SNL' Effect: KATSEYE Sweeps K-POPIT Global Charts After Historic Debut

KATSEYE has climbed to the top of the K-POPIT BOARD's global momentum rankings following the group's debut appearance on "Saturday Night Live."

According to K-POPIT BOARD, the K-POP analytics index, KATSEYE ranked No. 1 on the Global Rise chart with a Power Index (PWR_GL) score of 72.6. The group also placed No. 2 on the Sept. 18 Domestic Rise chart with a Power Index (PWR_KR) score of 69.3.

The group's overall Momentum Score (MOM) reached 74.0, reflecting one of the strongest upward movements measured by the index. KATSEYE also recorded a Media Attention Score (MAS) of 96.9, indicating a sharp increase in media coverage and wider public attention.

The rise follows KATSEYE's first appearance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," where the group served as the musical guest for the Season 52 premiere on Sept. 26.

Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae performed "Animal" and "Hootie Frutti" from the group's latest EP, "WILD." KATSEYE also appeared in a comedy sketch parodying "The Debut: Dream Academy," the competition series through which the group was formed. This time, the members switched roles from contestants to judges evaluating prospective members of a new girl group.

The appearance gave KATSEYE exposure beyond a conventional music performance, placing the group in both the musical and comedy portions of one of U.S. television's longest-running programs.

That attention is also showing signs of translating into music consumption. KATSEYE posted a Viral Conversion Rate (VCR) of 31.2, an indicator measuring how effectively YouTube attention converts into Spotify streaming activity. Meanwhile, the group's D-layer index surged 926.3 percent, pointing to a sharp expansion of interest beyond its core fandom.

The latest jump comes as KATSEYE continues to expand its presence in the U.S. market. After wrapping the European leg of the "WILD" tour earlier this month, the group is preparing to begin its North American dates in October.

With the "SNL" debut arriving between the two legs of the tour, KATSEYE's latest K-POPIT BOARD figures point to a surge in attention at a key moment in the group's U.S. activities.
