Keyveatz Goes DIY on New 'A1ㄱ' Mixtape With Member-Written Solos and Units

Three months after debut, Keyveatz is putting more of its music directly into the members’ hands.

The five-member AOMG crew will release its first mixtape "A1ㄱ" on September 30 at 6 p.m. KST, with all members participating in both songwriting and composition.

The five-track project also marks the first time Keyveatz has ventured into solo and unit songs since its June debut.

At the center is title track "A1ㄱ," whose name combines the English letter "A," the number "1" and the Korean consonant "ㄱ."

The unusual combination represents starting from the most basic point and gradually establishing standards of their own rather than following a predetermined path. Its chorus turns "A1ㄱ" into a repeated chant as the five members come together as one crew.

The rest of the mixtape gives individual members and pairings room to establish their own sounds.

Newy goes solo on "OKUTANI," while Jione takes on "CRAZY," featuring rapper Coogie. Juone has her own track with "DOC," while Yeseul and Yuna form a unit for "ONLY WE."

"A1ㄱ" arrives roughly three months after Keyveatz debuted under AOMG with first EP OXY_GEN in June. The group promoted the project through double title tracks "OXY" and "SUCK IT UP."

The full mixtape and music video for "A1ㄱ" will be released September 30 at 6 p.m. KST.

Keyveatz will follow the release with Keyveatz, LIVE [CREW A1] at Hyundai Card UNDERSTAGE in Seoul on October 15, where the group is set to perform material from the mixtape.
