KATSEYE's Daniela Responds After 'SNL' Reference Is Seen as Dig at Manon

KATSEYE member Daniela Avanzini has pushed back against online speculation that a recent social media exchange was intended as a dig at fellow member Manon Bannerman.

The speculation spread after content creator Dante Onika posted a video highlighting a comment left by Daniela's boyfriend, Jonah David, under a photo of Daniela. David wrote, "guess I'm visual," which Onika's video framed as a possible reference to Manon, who has frequently been described by fans as one of KATSEYE's "visual" members.

The post prompted discussion among fans, with some interpreting the comment as another sign of tension involving Daniela and Manon. Daniela then responded directly in the comments, rejecting that interpretation.

Daniela said the comment was simply a reference to KATSEYE's recent "Saturday Night Live" appearance and was never intended as a dig at Manon. She criticized fans for building a broader narrative around a single image, which she said had been edited, and urged them to "stop assuming" they knew the full context.

KATSEYE appeared on the Season 52 premiere of "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 26. During the episode, the group took part in a "Dream Academy" parody sketch, a reference to the competition series through which KATSEYE was formed. Daniela said the exchange referenced the group's recent "SNL" appearance rather than Manon.

Onika later responded to Daniela's comment, arguing that the questions surrounding the post had not emerged without context. His video came amid broader online speculation over KATSEYE's group dynamics during Manon's hiatus from activities for health reasons.

Since Manon's break began earlier this year, interactions involving the members have drawn increased attention online, with fans repeatedly interpreting social media posts and comments as signs of tension within the group, though such speculation has never been confirmed by the members themselves.

Daniela's latest response marks a rare instance of a member directly addressing that speculation. Rather than allowing another interpretation of the group's personal dynamics to circulate unchecked, she made clear that, at least in this case, the meaning attributed to the post did not reflect what was intended.
