More than two years after its release, ILLIT's debut single "Magnetic" is still setting records in Japan.

According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on October 2, "Magnetic" has received a Triple Platinum streaming certification after surpassing 300 million cumulative streams as of August.

The song reached the milestone approximately two years and five months after its March 2024 release, making it the fastest song by an overseas female artist to reach 300 million streams in Japan.

It is also ILLIT's first song to receive a Triple Platinum streaming certification from the RIAJ.

Under the association's streaming certification system, songs are certified Platinum at 100 million streams, Double Platinum at 200 million, Triple Platinum at 300 million and Diamond at 500 million.

"Magnetic" has continued setting milestones throughout that climb. It reached Platinum just three months after release, at the time setting a speed record among songs by female groups including Japanese acts, before subsequently reaching Double Platinum.

The song is not ILLIT's only release to receive an RIAJ streaming certification. The group's first original Japanese song "Almond Chocolate" has been certified Platinum, while debut EP B-side "Lucky Girl Syndrome" has received Gold certification.

The latest milestone arrives as ILLIT prepares for its next comeback.

The group will release fifth mini album BREAK EVEN on October 26, continuing its exploration of relationships from a new perspective.

Title track "You're Under Arrest" centers on confronting someone whose habitual kindness has created the wrong impression, with ILLIT choosing to stop investing time and emotion into a relationship that gives little back.
