ILLIT's Iroha Trades Her Magic Wand for a Hammer in "BREAK EVEN" Teaser

ILLIT's Iroha looks like a magical girl in the latest "BREAK EVEN" teaser until you notice what she is holding.

The group released Iroha's "BURNING" version concept film for fifth mini album "BREAK EVEN" on October 1, continuing a series previously featuring Minju and Yunah.

Iroha enters a dreamlike space surrounded by falling flower petals, but instead of a magic wand, she carries an oversized hammer decorated with rhinestones and lace.

"Today's color is revenge red," she declares while applying red lipstick before taking the hammer to the room around her.

After finishing the destruction, Iroha throws herself onto the bed and closes the chapter with three short words: "The end, settlement, bye-bye."

The contrast captures the central idea behind ILLIT's latest concept, turning the anger of ending an unrewarding relationship into something playful and distinctly tied to the group's visual identity.

Similar details have appeared throughout the "BURNING" films. Minju's concept paired glitter tears with a small pink arm cast and a frilled gun, using traditionally cute imagery to express considerably messier emotions.

That tension ties into BREAK EVEN, which takes its name from the financial point at which there is neither a profit nor a loss and applies the idea to relationships where the effort put in is no longer being returned.

Title track ""You're Under Arrest" centers on confronting someone whose habitual kindness has created the wrong impression, while the album more broadly follows ILLIT choosing to walk away rather than lose themselves in confusing relationships.

ILLIT will begin another round of comeback teasers on October 5, followed by concept photos on October 6, 12 and 15.

The group is also set to perform a special stage during ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥︎' ENCORE in KOREA at Inspire Arena on October 17 and 18.

Two music video teasers will follow on October 23 and 25 before ILLIT releases BREAK EVEN on October 26 at 6 p.m. KST.
