Koyote's Kim Jong-min Reveals Wife's Pregnancy One Year After Marriage

Singer and television host Kim Jong-min is set to become a father roughly a year after tying the knot. He will share the news himself on the upcoming episode of KBS2's long-running parenting show "The Return of Superman," which airs at 8:30 p.m. KST on Oct 7.

"I'm going to be a dad," Kim Jong-min says on the show. "My wife is 17 weeks pregnant." The host married his wife, who is 11 years younger and is not part of the entertainment industry, last year, and he has spoken openly about trying to have a child since then.

On the episode, Kim Jong-min walks viewers through the moment he first learned about the pregnancy, the traditional dream believed to foretell a pregnancy, known as a taemong, and the baby's gender. He also talks about how he prepared for fatherhood.

"I quit drinking for a year and focused on my health so we could have a child," he says. "I think that's why the baby came to us quickly."

The show's production team said comedian Lalal and the staff celebrated the news with Kim Jong-min, who has spent years on "The Return of Superman" watching fellow celebrity dads raise their kids on camera. They added that viewers can look forward to seeing a new side of him as a father-to-be.
