BTS Gets Its Own Street in Lima Ahead of First-Ever Peru Concerts
Lima is marking BTS' first visit to Peru with a series of events across the city, including temporarily renaming a street after the group.
BTS will perform at Estadio San Marcos on Oct. 7, 9 and 10 as part of its "ARIRANG" World Tour. The shows will mark the group's first concerts in Peru since its 2013 debut.
Ahead of the concerts, the Santiago de Surco district temporarily renamed Calle Sacramento as "Avenida BTS," or "BTS Avenue," from Oct. 5 through 11. Signs have been installed along the street to mark the occasion.
Other Lima landmarks are also joining the celebrations. The Arco Morisco at Parque de la Amistad has been illuminated in purple, while the city's Circuito Mágico del Agua is holding a BTS-themed show featuring music, lights and water-screen projections.
The concerts follow BTS' two-night run at Estadio El Campín in Bogotá on Oct. 2 and 3, which drew approximately 100,000 fans as the group kicked off the South American leg of its tour.
