ILLIT has claimed the No. 1 spot on October 12th's K-POPIT Board, climbing five positions from No. 6 in just one week as anticipation builds for the group's upcoming comeback.

The group recorded a global power score (PWR GL) of 72, with its momentum classified as Growing and a momentum score of 75. The sharp weekly increase comes ahead of the October 26 release of its fifth mini-album, "BREAK EVEN," suggesting that the group's pre-release activities are already translating into heightened global attention.

Much of the attention has centered on ILLIT's creative approach to its comeback campaign. On October 8, the group launched "Break Whistle," an interactive mobile rhythm game incorporating the melody of its upcoming title track, "Arrest Me." The game also offered fans an early look at the album's "QUIET" and "MAD" concept photos, transforming a traditional teaser rollout into an interactive experience.

The group has also been building anticipation through choreography previews featuring the track's distinctive whistle sound and easy-to-follow dance moves. Fans have already begun participating in challenges across TikTok and YouTube Shorts, giving the song an early presence on social media ahead of its official release.

The growing interest is also reflected in the album's pre-release figures. "BREAK EVEN" surpassed 270,000 Spotify pre-saves within approximately two weeks and ranked No. 3 on Spotify's global Countdown Charts as of October 7, indicating considerable anticipation among international listeners.

Beyond music, member Wonhee added to the group's international visibility through her appearance at Chanel's Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week on October 5, placing ILLIT in the spotlight beyond its ongoing comeback promotions.

What makes this week's ranking particularly notable is the speed of ILLIT's rise. Moving from sixth to first place in just seven days, before releasing any new music, suggests that the group's promotional activities have been effective in sustaining attention and encouraging fan engagement. Rather than relying solely on a new release, ILLIT has generated momentum through a combination of interactive content, social media participation and international exposure.

The timing also raises questions about how much further that momentum could develop. ILLIT is scheduled to hold its "PRESS START♥︎" encore concerts at Inspire Arena in Incheon on October 17 and 18, followed by the release of "BREAK EVEN" on October 26. Both events could provide additional opportunities to sustain the group's visibility in the coming weeks.

With its comeback still two weeks away, ILLIT has already reached the top of the K-POPIT Board. Whether the group can maintain its No. 1 position as its concerts and album release approach remains to be seen, but its latest rise demonstrates how strongly a pre-release campaign can influence an artist's weekly momentum.
