ALPHA DRIVE ONE Cracks Billboard's World Albums Top 5 in Debut Year
K-pop group ALPHA DRIVE ONE has reached the top five of Billboard's World Albums chart in its debut year with its second EP, "UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST."
The EP ranked No. 5 on the chart dated Oct. 17, released on Oct. 13. It also reached No. 20 on Top Album Sales, while ALPHA DRIVE ONE placed No. 9 on the Emerging Artists chart.
"UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST" was first released in South Korea in August. Its physical edition went on sale in the United States on Oct. 2, marking the group's first official U.S. physical album release. According to its agency, ALPHA DRIVE ONE ranked highest among K-pop groups that debuted in 2026 on this week's World Albums chart and was the only one in the top five.
The EP sold 1.13 million copies in its first week in South Korea, giving the group two consecutive million-selling albums following its debut release. Its cumulative album sales have exceeded two million copies. "UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST" also received Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan ahead of the group's official Japanese debut.
The EP explores the growing pains of young people facing prejudice and stigma. Its title track, "BORN DIRE," draws on British rave and punk.
The chart placement gives ALPHA DRIVE ONE an early foothold in the U.S. market, just weeks after its first official physical album release there. The group will continue promoting the EP with a music video for the follow-up track "Talk to me" on Oct. 27.
ALPHA DRIVE ONE debuted on Jan. 12 with its first EP, "EUPHORIA." The group was formed through Mnet's 2025 audition show "BOYS II PLANET."
