Figure Skating Legend Kim Yuna Hit With New Pregnancy Speculation

Former figure skating champion Kim Yuna is once again at the center of pregnancy rumors. The speculation comes just over a month after her agency publicly shut down a similar round of talk.

On Oct. 13, Kim Yuna posted several photos on her social media with the caption "My eyes are so tired."

The images showed Kim Yuna in a gray knit top enjoying a meal at a restaurant. Another photo featured two teddy bears of different sizes placed side by side. She added the line "Even if it's childish, it's cute" to that image.

Some online users read meaning into the teddy bear photo. Comments like "Is it a baby?", "Is Kim Yuna having a baby?" and "Papa bear and baby bear?" quickly spread, raising the possibility of pregnancy. A shadow of a man visible in one of the photos also led to guesses that it was her husband Ko Woo-rim, a member of the vocal crossover group Forestella.

Other users pushed back and said people should stop making guesses without proof. "Enough with the pregnancy talk," one wrote. Another added, "She's drinking wine. What pregnancy are you talking about?"

This is not the first time Kim Yuna has been linked to pregnancy rumors. On Oct. 7, she attended a beauty brand event at a department store in Seoul's Jamsil area, and similar speculation surfaced. She wore a black sleeveless long dress at the event, and some online users said her figure looked different from usual and brought up the possibility of pregnancy.

Her agency All That Sports addressed the rumors the following day. "The pregnancy rumors are not true," the agency said. It added, "Depending on the outfit, her body may have looked different than usual," and dismissed the speculation.

Kim Yuna married Ko Woo-rim of Forestella in October 2022. Ko Woo-rim completed his military service and was discharged in May of last year.
