TWICE's Nayeon Is Getting a Little "NA-sty" for First Solo Comeback In Over Two Years
TWICE's Nayeon is returning as a solo artist for the first time in nearly two and a half years, announcing the release of her new single album "NA-sty" on November 20.
JYP Entertainment confirmed the comeback on October 23 through a logo motion video shared on its official social media channels. The video features a screen displaying the album title, which transforms into a screensaver featuring animated halos and wings that change colors.
The upcoming release marks Nayeon's first solo project since her second mini album, "NA," arrived in June 2024.
According to JYP Entertainment, the title "NA-sty" combines references to Nayeon's name, personal style and sense of individuality with the English word "nasty," giving the project a playful and mischievous identity.
The album is expected to explore different sides of Nayeon's personality, moving beyond the bright and cheerful image associated with her previous releases to highlight a more confident and outspoken attitude.
Nayeon made her solo debut in June 2022 with "IM NAYEON," led by the title track "POP!"
The album reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200, making her one of the first K-POP female soloists to achieve a Top 10 entry on the chart.
She followed the release with "NA" in June 2024, featuring the title track "ABCD," which earned her a second consecutive Top 10 entry on the Billboard 200.
The November comeback also represents a seasonal change for Nayeon, whose previous solo releases arrived during the summer. While her earlier projects emphasized an energetic, upbeat sound, "NA-sty" is being introduced as an opportunity for the singer to explore a wider range of styles and attitudes.
Further details about the album's tracklist and promotional schedule have yet to be announced.
Nayeon's new single album, "NA-sty," will be released on November 20 at 2 p.m. KST, corresponding to midnight Eastern Time in the United States.
